Water is the vital resource, necessary for all aspects of human and ecosystem survival and health. Depending on the quality, bore water may be used for human consumption, irrigation purposes and livestock watering. The quality of bore water can vary widely depending on the quality of ground water that is its source. Pollutants are being added to the ground water system through human and natural processes. Solid waste from industrial units is being dumped near the factories, which react with percolating rainwater and reaches the ground water.
The percolating water picks up a large number of heavy metals and reaches the aquifer system and contaminates the ground water. The usage of the contaminated bore water causes the diseases. Mercury, Arsenic and Cadmium are used or released by many industries.
This study was conducted to investigate the pollution of bore water in the industrial region Kurichi Industrial Cluster of Coimbatore, in the state of Tamilnadu, India. Four samples were taken from residential areas around Kurichi Industrial Cluster and analysed to find the concentrations of Mercury, Arsenic and Cadmium. Four more samples were taken from other residential regions far from the industrial estate and served as control. Samples were analysed using Atomic absorption spectrophotometry method.
We found that the ground water of the areas surrounding the industrial cluster does not contain significant amount of those metals. Instead, Heavy metal contamination of ground water were observed in some residential areas of coimbatore.Spells for evil
The regulatory measures to contain and prevent ground water contamination by industries undertaken by Tamilnadu pollution control board may have lead to absence of heavy metal contamination in Kurichi Industrial cluster, Coimbatore, India. Many land based, water based activities and over exploitation are causing contamination of aquifers leading to unsafe ground water [ 1 ]. In areas of high population density and intensive human use of the land, ground water becomes especially vulnerable.
Many industrial activities where chemicals or wastes may be released to the environment, either intentionally or accidentally, has the potential to pollute ground water [ 2 ]. When ground water becomes polluted by contaminants, it causes disease and poses big difficulty cleaning it.
WHO World Health Organisation realised this problem earlier and started issuing standards for safe ground water from the year [ 3 ]. Volcanic activity, weathering of rocks naturally releases mercury into the environment. But in the current world, human activity is the main cause of mercury release like coal-fired power stations, residential coal burning for heating and cooking, industrial processes, waste incinerators and as a result of mining for mercury, gold and other metals [ 5 ].
Mercury in its all forms such as inorganic form, organic form as methyl mercury is highly toxic to humans when consumed or inhaled [ 6 ]. Mercury can cause Respiratory, Nervous and Renal damages. Also it causes disease even when exposed to small amounts and can affect the fetus in utero [ 5 ]. Other activities of industries like metal smelting, combustion of fossil fuels, agricultural pesticide production in the estate can contaminate groundwater with arsenic.
Chronic exposure to arsenic can cause harm to the cardiovascular, skin, gastrointestinal, hepatic, neurological, pulmonary, renal and respiratory systems [ 7 ], reproductive system [ 8 ] as well as causes cancer [ 9 ]. Cadmium, a metal which is used mainly as an anticorrosive, used for electroplating of steel. Cadmium sulfide and selenide are commonly used as pigments in plastics.
Cadmium compounds are used in electric batteries and electronic components [ 1011 ]. Cadmium is toxic to the kidneys. In a study by Bhagure GR et al. The probable cause of this pollution is due to rain water washing away the air borne and soil pollutants and contaminating the aquifers.
There are more than 25, small, medium, large scale industries and textile mills in Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu [ 14 ]. It contains many small scale industries and is a critically polluted region declared by government of India. Surrounding the estate are residential settlements in close proximity within 2 km radius. The Estate contains many factories which produce mercury containing items like batteries, measuring devices, such as thermometers and barometers, electric switches and relays in equipment lamps, dental amalgam, skin-lightening products and other cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
This study was aimed to find whether Mercury, Arsenic using industries were causing contamination of groundwater in that region. This was an observational-cross-sectional study, conducted over a period of two months between May-Junewhere 4 nearest residential areas circling the Kurichi Industrial Cluster in North, South, East and West Directions were selected. The Yamuna remains stagnant for almost nine months of the year.
With no flow there is no dilution of the river downstream. Given the overall shortage of water in the Yamuna basin, the possibility of additional fresh water becoming available for dilution appears to be remote in the foreseeable future.
Therefore, to improve the quality of river water, innovative and holistic approaches including creating wetlands in the floodplains, recycling of waste water and thereby reducing the demand for fresh water, rain water harvesting, creating off river reservoirs upstream of Wazirabad both in Haryana and Delhi, improving water use efficiency of agriculture and gradual switching over from water intensive agronomic practices need to be introduced.
It is critical for treated sewage waste water which is presently being released into drains is harnessed for non- domestic uses like washing operations in factories, service stations, metro and bus transport hubs. It must be made mandatory for watering parks and gardens. The Delhi Government has announced that all major parks and green belt areas have to make arrangements for decentralized waste water treatment systems near to a feeding point to be provided by DJB.
They can lift raw sewerage from the sewer line, treat it and use for their horticulture needs according to the Delhi Jal Board.

Relocation Landlord Resources Tenant Resources.Change control is the process through which all requests to change the approved baseline of a project, programme or portfolio are captured, evaluated and then approved, rejected or deferred.
Change control is of particular importance when the project is part of a larger programme or portfolio because the consequential effects of unmanaged change may be far-reaching within the planned change environment and to business-as-usual activities. It is important to differentiate change control from the wider discipline of change management.
Change control is a subset of overall change management and it is useful to not mix up the language. Change management is a structured approach to move an organisation from a current state to a future desired state.
Change requests may arise as a result of issues that occur from the management of work or external sources. Issues that result in changes to scope or any other part of the baseline plan are progressed through change control.
Any success criteria that need to be changed at any time in the project life cycle are subject to approval through change control. Formal change control is required when tolerances are breached. The Seven Steps of Action Planning
Developing Strategic and Action Plans. Outline Examples. Convene a planning group made up of individuals from the community affected by the problem or issue and others who are in a position to address it.
Identify additional partners and invite them into your strategic planning process. In a workshop, retreat, or dialogue about the group's vision, capture: Dreams for the community or initiative e. List all vision statements proposed. Choose one or several vision statements with particular power to communicate, and consider whether they are: 1 concise, 2 positive, 3 acceptable, 4 a clear expression of why the group has come together.
Select one statement that concisely expresses why the group has come to together and is acceptable to all group members. What is your group's vision?
Develop or refine a mission statement that includes what is to be done and why it is to be done e. To do so: Describe the essential "what" of the organization or initiative by reviewing its core functions and current programs and activities e. To develop or refine objectives, clearly describe: Benchmarks that would help us assess where we are now baseline or pre-intervention and where we would be if the initiative were successful objectives.
What baseline markers could we access and how would we hope they would change if success were attained? Behavioral objectives: the changes in behaviors we would see if the group's efforts were successful What would people be saying and doing differently? Defining objectives is time consuming and may require second and third considerations for completeness. To develop or refine strategies, clearly describe how the effort will bring about the mission and objectives.
Identify for each: The levels to be targeted i. What different levels of your problem or goal will you target? For each strategy, consider if it will be universal i. What environmental factors related to your vision and mission are common within your targeted community?
Those who can most benefit and contribute and how they can be reached or involved in the effort Targets of change: those who may at particular risk for the issue or whose actions are critical for success. For you, who would this include? Agents of change: those who may be in a position to contribute to the initiative, including targets of change.Crystal stores near me
Who would this include? Community sectors: through which targets and agents of change can be reached or involved Behavioral strategies to be used. Approaches may include: Providing information and enhancing skills e.
Describe: What specific change e. Who will carry it out? When the intervention will be completed or for how long it will be maintained?Kivy dropdown
Communication - who should know what about this? Are a wide variety of strategies and sectors utilized? Clarity - Is it apparent what will be done and who will do what by when, to bring about change?During these challenging times, we guarantee we will work tirelessly to support you. We will get through this together. Creating a powerful action plan always begins with having a clear purpose, vision or goal in mind. It is designed to take you from wherever you are right now directly to the accomplishment of your stated goal.
With a well-designed plan, you can achieve virtually any goal you set out to accomplish. Jennifer Clark.Joanns yarn
When you're setting goals for yourself, look at the 'Why. For instance, if you want to make more money, you may discover that you actually want more freedom. Without that knowledge, you might get locked into something that doesn't serve your true goal, like landing in a job where you have plenty of money but no free time for your family or hobbies. To create an effective action plan, start by setting a clear, specific objective. Then, create milestones for the big parts of your overall goal, like finishing the first draft of your book.
For each milestone, create a list of specific tasks and set a timeline for finishing each one. Next, create a visual representation of your milestones and timeline, such as a chart or spreadsheet. For time management strategies that will help you work through your action plan, read on!
